Six home Favorites That Look Expensive, But They Aren’t + Look For Less Styling Tips
When it comes to furnishing and decorating a home, there is no denying the costs that come along with it! From styling various apartments and condos to our current home, I have found that there are styles you should splurge on if you can, but there are absolutely styles you can save on and you won’t even be able to tell!
When it comes to deciding on if a piece is worth the splurge or not, there are a few things I consider. The overall style is a huge factor for me! There are so many look for less options available within the home industry now that you can achieve the same elevated, high-end aesthetic for a fraction of the cost. With some styles being so similar, you truly can’t tell the difference, and if you blend the save options amongst some of your investment pieces, it creates an all around high-end, curated, and balanced feel.
Another thing I consider is time frame! First, are you trying to style or complete a space within a limited amount of time? If you are, utilizing save options is a great way to complete a space while sticking to a budget. You don’t have to spend time saving for those larger investment pieces, you can quickly turn around a space. Additionally, is the piece following a trend? I love utilizing neutrals throughout our home—furniture, textiles, lighting, and decor—and utilizing trends to add texture and shape. Oftentimes, if it’s a trendier style, I’ll tend to go with low-budget styles because I know it might not stand the test of time.
Finally, I consider durability and stage of life. With three young boys, I know that wear and tear is going to happen, naturally. If you have a busy home life us, purchasing save options for the length of the busy years is a great way to ensure you aren’t jeopardizing the quality of investment pieces. With how great look for less options are these days, you often don’t have to sacrifice quality, either.
